What a vCard QR code contains

A vCard QR code stores structured contact information directly inside the code. When a compatible phone scans it, the camera or QR app can offer to create a contact instead of making the user type each field manually.

This generator uses vCard 3.0 with standard BEGIN:VCARD and END:VCARD boundaries, CRLF line endings, N and FN name fields, and standard optional ORG, TITLE, TEL, EMAIL, URL, and ADR properties.

Focused contact fields for broad compatibility

V1 supports one name, organization, job title, phone number, email address, website, and postal address. It intentionally avoids photos, birthdays, social profiles, repeated custom rows, and nonstandard fields that would increase complexity and QR density.

Long property lines are folded by UTF-8 byte length, and vCard text characters such as backslashes, commas, semicolons, and line breaks are escaped once so they remain data rather than structural separators.

Scanning and saving on phones

Many current phone camera and QR applications recognize vCard contact data, but the exact save screen and supported fields can vary by operating system, scanner, and contacts app. Test the final code on representative devices before printing or distributing it widely.

A larger output and clear quiet zone help with dense, full-contact cards. Higher error correction tolerates more damage but increases QR density and reduces the available content capacity.

A static contact code, not a hosted profile

The downloaded PNG or SVG stores the vCard payload directly. It does not redirect through BrowserPine, provide analytics, update remotely, or depend on a subscription after download.

Anyone who can scan or access the QR image may be able to copy the encoded contact details. Share the file only where the same information is appropriate to disclose, and create a new code when the contact data changes.

Can I add a photo or multiple phone numbers?

Not in this focused version. Photos, repeated phone or email rows, birthdays, social profiles, and custom fields are intentionally excluded to keep the vCard predictable and the QR code less dense.

What happens to commas, semicolons, or line breaks?

Reserved vCard text characters are escaped once, and long lines are folded without splitting UTF-8 characters. This preserves punctuation and multiline address data as contact values.

Why was https:// added to my website?

A normal domain entered without a scheme is normalized to an HTTPS URL for a complete vCard URL property. The final normalized website is shown in the contact summary.

Does the contact QR code expire?

The static QR code has no BrowserPine expiration. Its encoded details remain unchanged, so create a new code when the contact information needs to be updated.
