You choose the watermark area instead of relying on broad automatic detection. The tool tests only complete PDF watermark annotations, isolated content streams, bounded Watermark Artifacts, optional-content invocations, and recognized BrowserPine watermark streams.
Low opacity, centered placement, diagonal text, repetition, large lettering, or words such as CONFIDENTIAL and DRAFT are not proof by themselves. A candidate must also pass rendered before and after comparison and preserve content outside the selected area.
A user-confirmable candidate is never removed immediately. The tool regenerates a temporary candidate result from the original bytes, renders both versions, highlights the changed region, and refuses changes that extend meaningfully outside the selection.
When the same structural candidate appears on several pages, only independently verified occurrences can be offered together. Current-page-only removal remains available, and ambiguous pages are excluded instead of guessed.
If watermark drawing instructions share one content stream with legitimate text or graphics, the tool refuses the candidate rather than editing individual operators. It does not use regex-based instruction editing and does not delete shared image or Form resources.
A watermark flattened into a scanned page or other page-sized image has no separate PDF object to remove. This tool does not use OCR, AI, inpainting, or destructive page rasterization, so those image-based watermarks remain unsupported.
Accepted removals preserve the page count, MediaBox, CropBox, stored rotations, unrelated content streams, annotations, form values, and outlines where the PDF structure allows. Unused watermark resources may remain because preserving shared resources is safer than aggressive deletion.
Every confirmation starts from the original selected PDF, not a previous result. Rewriting a PDF invalidates existing digital signatures, unusual producer-specific structures may be refused, and watermark removal does not guarantee a smaller file.
