Rotate PDF Pages Online

Turn all pages or a specific selection left, right, or 180 degrees. Rotation is applied locally in a dedicated browser worker without uploading your PDF.

Rotate PDF pages

Choose a PDF, select the pages and direction, then update their stored rotation without converting pages into images.

Local processing

Your PDF stays on your device

This tool reads, rotates, saves, and verifies the document in your browser. PDF data is not sent to our server, and temporary worker memory is released after processing, cancellation, or leaving the page.

Three simple steps

How to rotate PDF pages

Choose one PDF

Add a PDF with the file picker or drag and drop. Its structure and page count are checked locally before the controls become available.

Select pages and direction

Rotate all, odd, even, or custom pages. Choose right 90 degrees, left 90 degrees, or 180 degrees and review the text summary.

Apply and download

Update the page rotation, verify the saved PDF, and download the result. You can apply another turn or reset to the original file.

Rotate all pages or a precise selection

Use All for the entire document, Odd or Even for alternating pages, or enter custom page numbers and ranges such as 1, 3, 5-7. Page numbers are one-based, matching the numbers people normally use when reading a PDF.

Custom ranges are checked before processing. Repeated pages are included once, descending or malformed ranges are rejected, and a page outside the document cannot be applied accidentally.

Rotation without page rasterization

The tool changes each selected page’s stored rotation angle instead of rendering the page into an image. Text, vector graphics, embedded images, ordinary links, and the original MediaBox and CropBox remain structural PDF content.

A page that already has a rotation is turned relative to its current angle. For example, applying right 90 degrees to a page stored at 270 degrees produces a normalized 0-degree rotation.

Apply again or return to the source

After a successful edit, another rotation uses the current edited PDF. This makes two right turns equivalent to 180 degrees and lets different page groups be corrected in sequence without downloading and re-uploading between steps.

Reset to original discards every rotation applied in this session and returns to the initially selected file. Replacing the PDF also starts a fresh edit history.

Compatibility and browser limits

Input is limited to one PDF up to 50 MiB and 500 pages, with generated output capped at 150 MiB. These safeguards help keep browser memory use predictable on phones and computers.

Password-protected or encrypted files are rejected, and changing any PDF invalidates an existing digital signature. Advanced features such as forms, bookmarks, attachments, internal links, or specialized metadata may not always survive editing perfectly.

Common questions

Rotate PDF FAQ

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. This Rotate PDF tool reads and edits the selected document locally in your browser. The PDF file data is not uploaded to our server.

Can I rotate only certain PDF pages?

Yes. Choose odd pages, even pages, or enter page numbers and ranges such as 1, 3, 5-7. You can also rotate every page at once.

Does rotating a PDF reduce its quality?

The tool updates page rotation metadata without rasterizing pages, so it does not intentionally reduce image resolution or turn text and vector graphics into pixels.

What happens to pages that are already rotated?

The selected turn is added to the page’s current rotation and normalized to 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees. Unselected pages keep their existing rotation.

Can I apply more than one rotation?

Yes. Apply another rotation to the current edited PDF, or choose Reset to original to discard all rotations made during the session.

Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?

No. Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are rejected. This tool does not request, store, or attempt to bypass document passwords.

What are the file and page limits?

The input PDF can be up to 50 MiB and 500 pages. The generated rotated PDF must remain within 150 MiB.
