Three simple steps

How to convert WebP images to JPG

Choose your WebP files

Select files from your device or drag them into the converter. Each image is checked before it enters the queue.

Set JPEG quality

Keep the default quality of 90 or adjust it from 1 to 100. Transparent pixels use your selected background color.

Convert and download

Convert files sequentially, review each result, and download the JPG images you want to keep.

WebP and JPG serve different needs

WebP is a modern image format that can provide efficient compression and supports transparency. JPG is older and broadly compatible with photo editors, document tools, websites, and devices.

Converting to JPG can help when an application does not accept WebP. The conversion preserves pixel dimensions, while JPEG quality controls the balance between output size and visible compression.

What happens to transparent pixels?

JPEG does not support transparency. This tool fills transparent areas with white by default before encoding the JPG. You can choose another background color when the image needs to sit on a different surface.

Very high JPEG quality does not make the output lossless, and a JPG can occasionally be larger than its WebP source because the two formats compress image data differently.

Common questions

WebP to JPG FAQ

Are my WebP images uploaded?

No. This converter decodes and encodes images locally in your browser. The selected files are not sent to our server.

Can I convert several WebP files at once?

Yes. You can queue up to 20 files and convert them together. Files are processed one at a time to reduce peak memory use.

Does conversion change the image dimensions?

No. The JPG keeps the original width and height. Only the image format, JPEG quality, and transparency background change.

Why does transparency become a solid color?

JPG has no alpha transparency channel. Transparent pixels must be flattened onto a color, which is white by default and can be changed before conversion.

Why might the JPG be larger than the WebP?

WebP can compress some images more efficiently than JPG. Output size also depends on image detail and the JPEG quality setting you choose.
